The Journal “International Trends” held a contest for the best articles published in the journal in 2018. Its purpose was to promote best practices of scientific publications.

A TV&P attorney at law Dr. Ivan Bunik was awarded a prize. His article entitled “International Legal Aspects of Suspension of South Stream Project” analyses the legal consequences of the discontinuance of the mentioned pipeline project for the subjects of international law as well as for private entities in the context of Russia-EU energy cooperation.

The jury assessed the clarity and novelty of the scientific problem formulation; the quality of the positioning of the article in relation to the existing doctrinal sources; theoretical substantiation of the author’s position; depth of the analysis and quality of the argument; complexity of the methodology used; degree of confirmation of the findings by the empirical data; contribution to scientific knowledge in the subject area; literary qualities of the text; compliance with the requirements of scientific ethics.

The journal “International Trends” was established in 2002 as the first Russian theory of international relations journal. The Journal’s key spheres of interest are international-political analysis and problems of world-system regulation; general issues of world economics and international law overlapping with world politics; conceptual issues of international security in its various dimensions, formation of new world policy subdisciplines; philosophy of international relations, political psychology, states’ foreign policy behavior; theory of international conflict; agenda of international cooperation and negotiations.
